The exhibition of paintings, "I Striving for You," explores the expressiveness of Orthodox icons through movement, facial expressions, postures, and gestures, focusing viewers' attention on fragments and inviting them to recreate the whole image from their impressions.

The artist presents a vision of traditional themes, such as Abraham's hospitality, the fiery chariot of the Prophet Elijah, the image of the Oranta and the Three-Handed Cross, images of saints, and artifacts, conveying their beauty and uniqueness and emphasizing the sacredness of the selected moments.

St.Pantheleimon, the Healer and His Casket

On icons of the holy healer Panteleimon, we often see a mysterious attribute—a chest containing medicines. What does it mean? Where did this detail appear in the canon, and why did it become an integral part of the saint's image? In this lecture, we will not only recall the life and great deeds of one of the most revered saints, but also conduct a true art historical investigation. We will trace the development of Panteleimon's iconographic image and decipher the symbolic language of his attributes.

In this lecture, we learn about the deeds of Saint Pantheleimon and his casket. This study invites us to reflect on how the casket appeared in the saint's iconography and what it symbolizes.
From Icon to Avangarde

At the beginning of the 20th century, artists revolutionized not only the form but also the very meaning of art, pioneering new directions and movements—Rayonism, Suprematism, Futurism. What was the source of their bold ideas? Turning to iconography, they identified universal visual codes: the rejection of illusion, reverse perspective, sacred color, light as revelation—and reinterpreted these principles, creating their own "theology" of art.

In this lecture, we will examine how iconography influenced the work of artists K. Malevich, N. Goncharova, V. Kandinsky, and other significant figures in Russian art of the first half of the 20th century. We will explore parallels and transformations: from face to image, from a golden background to the white expanse of the canvas, from sacred symbol to pure geometry.
